China to beef up its cyber force to combat security threats

A military white paper said on Tuesday that China needs to take strong measures in order to speed up the development of a cyber-force to combat some serious security threats hovering upon its cyber infrastructure.

Cyberspace is hailed as one of China’s four “critical security domains”, apart from the ocean, outer space and nuclear force, as described by the report titled “China’s Military Strategy”.

China will prepare a five-year cybersecurity plan to protect state secrets and data, the official China Daily said on Thursday, citing a senior official of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Due to severe International strategic competition in cyberspace it has now become progressively aggressive and now many of the countries have now developed their cyber military forces, it was suggested by the report which was published by the State Council Information Office.

It is also a key concern for China because China is one of the key victims of cyber attacks after US.

China will boost its competencies and cyber skills to overcome the cyberspace issue and create awareness, bring about cyber defense and support for the country’s accomplishments in cyberspace and contribution in international cyber cooperation, so as to curtail major cyber crises, ensure national network and information security, and to preserve and uphold its national security and social strength.
