Eight months jail for student trying to hack facebook

A British student Glenn Steven Mangham, 26 years old, has been sent to jail for eight months for hacking into Facebook website from his residency.

Glenn Steven Mangham admitted to hack into Facebook in April and May 2011. He said he got into the website after hacking facebook account of one of the facebook official. Facebook informed the FBI authorities last year in May when they discovered about the breach.

When FBI traced the logins , it was discovered that all the logins were made from the UK and later Glenn was arrested as a result of raid on his home.

Glen is a software student who calls himself an ethical hacker and claims that he had been into Yahoo servers as well but only as a service to that company.

Glen explained that “It was to identify vulnerabilities in the system so I could compile a report that I could then bundle over to Facebook and show them what was wrong with their system”.
