Facebook Planning to replace your Android Smartphone’s Dialer

Facebook evidently hasn’t fully accepted the failure of Home and is now trying to swap your Android smartphone’s dialer with one of it’s own.

It has been identified by Android Police tipsters that the social network giant Facebook is inspecting a dialer app that will reveal detailed information about the caller and will also block calls from “commonly blocked numbers.”

Theoretically, this will prevent the threat of technical support and telemarketer scams because it will display the caller info even if you don’t know the digits.

It is however, unclear if or when this app will be officially launched because such inspections and testing are conducted all the time.

If it does get launched then it could potentially be one of the few standalone apps from Facebook which you would want to use.
