A recent incident has left many in a state of shock when a big screen at one of the busiest metro stations in India started streaming hardcore pornography in the middle of the day. After the footage went viral, the company handling the network promised a thorough investigation, as one of their officials, stated on Sunday.

This x-rated footage was broadcasted on a TV screen that’s usually reserved for different commercials and advertisements in general. These advertisements mostly include credit card schemes or luxury property, and nothing like this has ever been witnessed before. That is why this event immediately stopped every passer-by in Delhi’s central business district of Connaught Place.

One of the spectators started filming the broadcast on his phone, and upon uploading the clip on the internet, the video went viral rapidly and forcing the local authorities to act.

A spokesperson for DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation), Mohinder Yadav, stated that the authorities suspect of three individuals for the incident and that they’re currently trying to identify the culprits.

Apparently, the screen was operated by a certain private company, that did not properly secure their Wi-Fi network. The flaw in Wi-Fi security led to the screen being hacked, affirms the DMRC.

They’ve also stated that the CCTV footage has helped them discover the men who were playing the clip and that the whole operation was done through their mobile phones. DMRC also added that those in charge of the screen will have to protect it with a password so that incidents like this will not be repeated in the future.

Depending on where you’re from, this might not sound like such a big deal, but in India, this is a serious matter. For example, in one of the Hindi-language films, even the word “lesbian” was muted. They also completely blocked the release of a toned-down version of the movie “Fifty shades of Grey” back in 2015, and even censored two of the James Bond kissing scenes, since according to the censor board they weren’t suitable for the audience.
