Protest Against Spying: Indonesian Gantengers Crew Hacks Australian National University Domain

Indonesian based hackers from Gantengers Crew has hacked and defaced an official sub-domain of Australian National University today against Australian spying activities over Indonesian government as reveled by NSA‘s whistleblower Edward Snowden.

The targeted domain belongs to Australian National University’s Deepening Histories of Place Project, which is now displaying a deface page along with a message left by Gantengers Crew. According to the message:

  • Hacked by Gantengers Crew! We Are Gantengers Crew : SultanHaikal – d3b~X – Brian Kamikaze – CoupDeGrace – Mdn_newbie – Index Php

SultanHaikal, a member of Gantengers Crew told me that they will keep on targeting Australian government owned websites until an official apology.

The protest against Australian spying activities over Indonesian government is at its peak. Indonesian hackers are targeting high profile Australian government owned websites, demanding apology from Canberra.

Just two days ago, Indonesian hacker took down the official Australian Federal Police and Reserve Bank websites under the banner of #OpNSA.

At the time of publishing this article, the targeted link of Australian National University was hacked and displaying deface page left by the crew.
