Another day, another service outage at social media giant Facebook. Yes, the photo and video-sharing social networking service Instagram has been hit by a worldwide service outage forcing its website and applications to go offline.
According to the Instagram’s outage map displayed on DownDetecter, the scale of this outage can be seen affecting users in United Kingdom, France, Hungry, Spain, Peru, United States, and several other countries.
Here’s what the outage map shows:
The outage seems to have begun at around 11 pm UK time after a “5xx Server Error” appeared on Instagram’s website. On the other hand, Instagram’s app is also facing loading issues preventing users from posting their content.
At the time of publishing this article; Instagram was still down while there has been no tweet or update from Instagram or Facebook.
Instagram has over 1 billion users worldwide and service outage like this affects users especially businesses. The aftermath of it can be seen on Twitter where millions of Instagram users have been tweeting and asking Facebook for answers.

At 12:41 AM – 14 Jun 2019, UK time; Instagram tweeted that the company is aware of the issue however it did not mention why the platform is down.
At 2:03 AM – 14 Jun 2019, the company tweeted that Instagram is back online. It also apologized for the disruption.
