Earlier I updated you regarding a successful hacking attack on Indonesian Presidential website by Jember Hacker Team. Today the Indonesian police has arrested an Internet cafe operator from the East Java district of Jember for allegedly hacking the presidential website.

The 22 years old, Wildan Yani Ashari is an Indonesian citizen who works at an Internet cafe as an operator. The cafe is run by company CV Suryatama, was arrested by National Police’s cyber crimes unit on Friday.

According to the  Indonesian National Police’s special crimes director, Brig. Gen. Arief Sulistyanto:

“His motive was just for fun; no messages, no political [motives]. He only turned the site, presidensby.info, into a black page and a message “jemberhacker team” and “Hacked by MJL007.”

The arrested internet cafe operator is computer science graduate and leaned how to hack during his free time at the internet cafe, Arief added.

Brig. Gen. Arief explained that the hacker’s IP address was traced to Jember city and after raiding and scanning Wildan’s computer, we found out that he had hacked many other sites in past.

The arrested hacker has been charged with two articles of the Transactions Law and Telecommunications Law & the Electronic Information, which carries with it a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
