Iran Foreign Ministry Facebook page hacked against police brutality on protesters

An unknown hacker has hacked the official Facebook page of Iranian Foreign Ministry with over 2 million fans against police brutality on protesters during 2009 presidential elections.  Iran Foreign Ministry Facebook page hacked against police brutality on protesters

After hacking the page (https://www.facebook.com/jzarif) hacker started posting content against local police and Iranian guards for beating down protesters protesting against alleged rigging during 2009 presidential elections.

In a statement by Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that:

  • My Facebook page was pirated by someone who changed the password, but the problem has since been sorted, if this happens again, I may have to stop having a Facebook page.

The identity of hacker remains unknown nor any arrest was made. However, the IT experts in the country are trying to track the hacker.

At the time of publishing this article, the page was restored with a post of apology directly by the Iranian foreign minister.
