On 11th May 2015, the President of Kenya (Uhuru Kenyatta) website was hacked where its homepage was replaced by hackers with one of their own — The group behind this hack is an Indonesian based Gantengers Crew.

The famous Indonesian based hackers from Gantengers Crew hacked and defaced the official website of President of Kenya last Monday.

Hackers left a deface page along with their online handles on the hacked Kenyan President website, but just like the crew’s previous hacks, the reason for targeting the site was not mentioned anywhere.

In an exclusive conversation with one of the hackers from Gantengers Crew, HackRead was told the reason for targeting President’s website was to show the government how powerful we (the hackers) are.

Gantengers Crew was also behind hacking of MasterCard website on 29th April 2015. The same crew was involved in hacking some high-profile websites last year including Australian National University, WWF And Earth Hour Philippines.

At the time of publishing this article, Kenyan President website was restored.
