Shadi.com is the latest victim of the hacking spree against Muslim dating and matrimonial websites!

User accounts of Muslim dating websites MuslimMatch.com and Shadi.com are being traded in the digital underground, including email address, cracked passwords, names, and dates of birth.

The Leaked Source managed to obtain data of two dating websites MuslimMatch.com and Shadi.com on July 10, 2016. Remember, MuslimMatch was hacked on 1st July where hackers leaked almost all the data on the Internet.

According to the report, Leaked Source claims to have obtained a copy of the stolen data of almost 2 million users. Nearly 150,000 user credentials and profiles have been posted online, as well as over half a million private messages exchanged between users.

Passwords from Shadi.com are reported to be in clear text format, but MuslimMatch.com has passwords that are encrypted with hashed with MD5, a hashing algorithm which can be easily decrypted.

According to the reports the data from the two sites were not been traded. Affected users can head to the Leaked Source website to know if their data is available online.

All the users are advised to think proactively, and take steps to protect all their online accounts, even if one site they use does happen to be breached. One way of doing that is with a password manager, which generates strong, unique passwords and stores them either locally or online. That way, when one site is attacked, any details leaked won’t necessarily allow hackers to access any other accounts.

Here is a list of most used password and email domains on Shadi.com

In a similar incident, Softpedia reported that AfrikaDating.com and AdultSingleSites.com.au were also hacked into and more than 12,000 and 67,000 records respectively were leaked. PinkDate.co.uk, an escort website was also breached earlier.

We have contacted Shadi.com and based on their response we will update the article.
