Just when things were looking down, the hackavist group Anonymous hit back the Egyptian government by taking down three of its high profile websites. The website of  Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers (egyptiancabinet.gov.eg), the Cabinet of Egypt (cabinet.gov.eg), and the Ministry of Information (moinfo.gov.eg).

The CWN site reports that Anonymous hackers attacked and took down the sites as part of their ongoing Operation Egypt.

Earlier, Anonymous had released a press release which talked about rights of citizen of Egypt. According to the release:
The people of Egypt have been demanding: Bread [livelihood], Freedom, Social Justice, and Human Dignity. However those demands are less and less achievable under such circumstances’. It is our duty to show our solidarity to the people of Egypt now, as we all did two years ago.

This is not the first time when Anonymous hackers have attacked Egyptian sites, on Dec 10, 2012 the hackers took down 30 Egyptian government site for #Op_Egypt.

At the time of publishing this article, all three websites were still down and displaying offline message.
