The online hackavists from Anonymous group are taking #OpGabon to a new level as they have hacked and defaced the official website of a French global investment, retirement, and insurance group AXA (axa-gabon.com) against its support for Gabonese President Ali Bongo.

The site was left with a deface page, a message and a YouTube video. The deface message was expressed in following words:

Anonymous left an other detailed message on Cyber Guerrilla site, explaining the reason for targeting the AXA insurance website. The message was expressed in following words:

  • This site has been targeted because Axa Insurance Group, a group whose president visited earlier this year dictator Ali Bongo to offer his support. An insurance company that handles billions and helps the corrupt regime of Bongo to plunder the good people of Gabon.

This is not the first time when AXA group was hacked, the site has history of hacks with three times defacement in 2013.

For those who are not aware of #OpGabon, it is an online operation started by Anonymous hackers, challenging massive crisis in West Africa due to killings and injustice by the ruling class of the country. The hackers started cyber attacks on the government and its supporting companies such as Gabonese based logistic company ‘Courtage Gabon Logistique’ (cgl-gabon.com) and Gabon’s largest manganese alloy producer for supporting the alleged killings of Gabonese youth.

At the time of publishing this article, the website of AXA Insurance was hacked and displaying deface page left by the hackers.
