Bangladesh Cyber Army known for their cyber resistance have successfully hacked and defaced a Pakistani government owned website. It is believed that this attack was in retaliation to a Pakistani hacker hacking and defacing a Bangladeshi website.

Hacked website belongs to the Finance Department Batagram, which is under the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deals with the subjects pertaining to finance of the District Government and financial matters affecting the District as a whole, preparation of annual budget statements and supplementary/excess budget statements for the consideration of the district accounts and audits of the District Government Organization.

This cyber-attack on Pakistani government website by the Bangladesh Cyber Army has raised many questions, such as if this is a start of a first ever cyber warfare between the hackers of two countries? Why the website was attacked by Bangladeshi hackers? Was this attack provocative? Or it was just an act to calm things down by sending a message to Pakistani hackers?

According to the deface message on the hacked website, it seems that this attack was a warning for Pakistani hackers to ensure no further attack on Bangladeshi websites. The deface message said that:

WE don’t WANT War

STAY AWAY from OUR CYBER SPACE
If you CONTINUE attack then wait for PAYBACK

We want peace
War isn’t a solution
