You are not alone Facebook and Instagram are down for many

You are not alone, Facebook and Instagram are down for many around the world.

The social media giant Facebook is currently logging out users from their accounts and displaying a message on its login page that “Facebook Will Be Back Soon Facebook is down (1:20 PM Thursday, January 25, 2018, Eastern Time (ET) for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes. In the meantime, read more about why you’re seeing this message. Thanks for your patience as we improve the site.”

According to Facebook, this message means the company is “making an improvement to the database your account is stored on. While this process won’t affect your account, you temporarily won’t be able to access the site. Keep in mind, we don’t do site maintenance on all accounts at the same time. It’s possible that your friends will be able to access the site while your account is still unavailable.”

This also means that Facebook is well aware of the issue and there is no problem with your Internet connection or your account. However, according to DownDetector’s Live Map, a service that keeps track of online platforms facing connectivity issues users in Europe, United States, India, Pakistan and South America have been impacted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Instagram down

On the other hand, Instagram is also suffering outage and not letting users upload or browse the app. However, there has been no word from the company. Remember, Instagram is owned by Facebook and this is not the first time when both Instagram and Facebook are suffering service outage at the same time.

A few months back, Instagram and Facebook suffered a worldwide outage leaving users around the world baffled.
