Website of Serbian Embassy in the United States Hacked

The official website of Embassy of Serbia in the United States has been hacked and defaced by a group of Moroccan hackers.

The group behind the hack goes with the handle of Moroccan Agent Secret (MAS) who left a deface page along with a message on the hacked Serbian Embassy website, talking about Islam being a religion of Peace.

Hackers were able to access site’s admin panel and upload a deface page of their own. An important point is that targeted embassy domain is a sub-domain of Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In an exclusive conversation with one of the representatives from MAS, HackRead was told the reason for hacking Serbian embassy site was to spread the message about their religion.

“The embassy site is a high-profile one so we figured it will be easy to deliver our message.”

The message left on the website was expressed in following text: 

“Hacked by Moroccan Agent Secret! Islam is the religion of peace, because it is religion of Allah.”

In past, Moroccan hackers were known for hacking Spanish and Israel based websites. 

At the time of publishing this article, the targeted website was hacked with deface page upload by the hackers.
