The online hacktivist group ‘Moroccan Ghosts‘ have hacked and defaced the official website of Republic of Angola Embassy in Spain against alleged decision from the government of Angola to ban religion of Islam and shutdown all the mosques in the country.

Moroccan Ghosts left a deface page along with a message on the hacked Angolan Embassy website. The deface message urges the government of Angola to reverse its position and stop suppressing Islam and Muslims. According to the message:

  • Islam is a religion of tolerance, respect and full of mercy, where man plays a big role to contribute to the stability of any society judges and living together of different races. One of the duties of the Muslim as an individual is to respect the other, on the other hand, a Muslim must be able to exercise his faith We as Muslims, we regret the Angolan decision to close the mosques and ban Islam, unfortunately, this is a contradiction of the Constitution recognizes freedom of religion. We urge the Angolan government to reverse its position and back to stop the suppression of Islam and the Muslims.

It is unclear if the government of Angola has really put ban on Muslims from practicing their faith, as according to Africa’s famous news portal AllAfrica has reported that Angolan government Friday denied categorically the report alleging that it had adopted measures to ban Islam and destroyed mosques, as reported by various media organs and social networks.

At the time of publishing this article, the website of Embassy of Angola in Spain was hacked and displaying deface page left by the hackers.
