Robot Runs Away from Lab; Blocks Traffic in Russia

A humanoid-looking robot in Russia fled after figuring out that the engineers forgot to shut the gates!

Last year a technician at the Germany-based Volkswagen production plant was killed by a robot, of course, a human error was involved in that accident by what happened in Russia is not only funny but also shocking.

There are many conspiracies about robots taking over our jobs or gearing up for the destruction of mankind but apart from those theories, something happened in Russia that looked like a scene from a science fiction movie when a runaway robot caused a traffic jam in Perm city. Apparently the robot who goes by the name of Promobot was found in the middle of a street after breaking his way free taking advantage of the open gates.

According to a YouTube video recorded and uploaded by a witness, it can be seen that a police officer parked his car in the middle of the road just beside the humanoid-looking robot (in white) in order to avoid any damage to the robot itself and the passengers. The 1:03 minutes clip also shows hilarious footage when a worker attempted to move Promobot out of the way of cars after it ran away on Wednesday morning.

Oleg Kivokurtsev, co-founder of the firm working on the runaway Promobot told media that the robot was learning automatic movement algorithms on the testing ground,” which will be featured in an upcoming version.

Kivokurtsev also added that the firm is working on robots that are able to answer questions, give directions and even recognize people.
