Yemen Cyber Army claims it breached into the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs server and leaked plain-text login credentials of Saudi officials — Conversations between embassies along with Embassies VSAT Communications.

A group of Yemeni hackers going with the handle of Yemen Cyber Army (YCA) were able to hack into the official website of Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and steal high-profile data from its server.

The reason was targeting the Saudi ministry was to convey a message to Saudi government against its attack on Yemen, hackers told HackRead.

Hackers also left a deface page along with a message on the hacked ministry website. The defaced page explains everything about the attack.

In an exclusive email conversation with HackRead, the YCA hackers claimed they gained access to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) network and have full control over more than 3000 computers and servers, and thousands of users, but for now they have published only a few portion of vital information.

We have gained access to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) network and have full control over more than 3000 computers and servers, and thousands of users. We also have access to the emails, personal and secret information of hundreds of thousands of their diplomats in different missions around the world.

YCA has also leaked a huge amount of data claiming it belongs to the targeted Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After analyzing the data, we found it to be legit and never been leaked before on the Internet.

The leaked data includes site’s database, usernames, phone numbers, thousands of email addresses. One portion of leak includes separate 162 emails along with their clear-text passwords.

It also contains several file folder links along with their passwords which further open doors to more leaked data.

Another file shows Embassies MailBox sample mirror leaked by hackers in 3 files, embassies VSAT Communications Sample Mirror and Telex printed messages communication.

The hacker told HackRead that this is just some portion of secret information, thousands of documents from the MOFA’s automation system and secret emails will be published gradually.

Our cyber operation is just started and by the grace of God we are expecting the Saudi regime’s collapse by the “Labbaik Ya-Hossain” slogan. This second operation is blessed by the name of martyred “Syed Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi” and is going to be a beginning to Saudi’s overthrow, Inshallah.

Note:

We didn’t download the whole data nor we have any intention due to security and privacy reasons, but this is some crazy stuff and by far the biggest leak we have ever witnessed.

It’s really strange to see plain-text passwords on a high-profile Ministry server. However, it shows the governments really don’t pay attention to cybersecurity related issues.

At the moment, that’s all folks, stay tuned for an update on Yemen Cyber Army and its attack on Saudi servers.
